Dr G S
Bajpai serves as Professor ( Law, Development & Implementation
analysis/ Criminal Justice Administration) at National
Law Institute University, Bhopal. Based in
India, Dr
Bajpai holds masters Degrees in Criminology and Sociology. His Doctorate work is in the field of
Victimology. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Victimology from
Tokiwa International Victimology Institute, Tokiwas University, Mito,
Japan.
In
his about two decades of professional career Dr.
Bajpai has served Faculty
of Department of Criminology and Forensic
Science, Dr H. S.
Gour University,
Sagar Mp, India (Formerly University of
Saugor,
MP), as Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi, as Junior Analyst Officer at the Bureau of Police Research &
Development, New Delhi and as Lecturer at the Punjab Police Academy,
Phillaur.
Dr. Bajpai specializes in Criminal Justice
Studies, Policy Research and Law implementation and research methodology.
His
current interest is in Crime Reduction. He has done research in Crime Reduction and Situational Crime Prevention in the UK (2003-4)
In his about
twenty years of research, teaching and training experience, Dr. Bajpai carried out research and consultancy projects for state police forces and conducted /directed a large number of training courses to the police officials of various states. He has also conducted/directed training programmes for IRS/ IPS officials and officials from Magistracy and Judicial branch. Recently, he has organized three national level Seminar/ workshop in the areas of Criminal Justice and Computer Applications in Social Research respectively.
His
dynamism has extended to abroad also. Besides being reviewer of
International journals, he has edited and collaborated some projects with
experts abroad. Dr Bajpai has
worked at University of Paris (France) under Indo-French Cultural Exchange Programme to work on
victims' position in French criminal justice system . Recently, he has been selected for the prestigious Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship tenable at the
Department of Criminology,
University of Leceister, UK for an advanced research and teaching for the year 2003-04.
He has been to Tokiwa
International Victimology Institute, Tokiwas University, Mito, Japan for
delivering a series of lectures (2007).
Recipient of G. B. Pant Award (for writing a book on Human Rights and Police ( in Hindi ), Dr. Bajpai has authored two books and more than seventy articles/ papers, project reports monographs in the Journals and Magazines.
He has conducted six major projects funded by the UGC, ICSSR and
BPRD.Several doctoral level researches under his supervision are on or
completed. His recent book- Development
without Disorders' acclaimed internationally
For his commendable work in the area of human
rights, he has been conferred the Human Rights Millennium
Award and ;Human Rights Promotion Award 2001 by the Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi for his outstanding contribution in the field of Human Rights. In recognition of his contribution in the growth of Criminology in India, Dr. Bajpai was conferred the title of Fellow of Indian Society of Criminology
(FISC) by the Indian Society of criminology (ISC). He has been also conferred
the Prof S S srivastava Memorial award for his outstanding contribution to
Indian criminology.
He has been selected for Man of the year Award 2003 and the American Medal for Honor (2004) by the American Biographical Institute, INC.
Dr. Bajpai is the Life Member of Indian Society of Criminology, Indian Society of Victimology, Indian Social Science Association and the Indian Sociological Society.
He has been designated as the founder Convenor of Research Committee on Sociology of Crime and Deviance created under the Indian Sociological Society.
He is also credited to have designed a curriculum on PG Diploma in Criminology and Police Administration available through distance mode of education
Dr. Bajpai serves as Consultant to the ICSSR and Counselor to IGNOU courses. He is on the panel of Consultants and Experts created by the BPR&D for formulation of Model Legislation for Victim Assistance in India.
