Samuel A. Goudsmit Memorial Lectureship
The Samuel A. Goudsmit Memorial Lectureship was established in
the University of Nevada, Reno Physics Department where the internationally
renowned physicist was Distinguished Visiting Professor from his retirement
in 1975 until his death on December 4, 1978. The Lectureship was funded by contributions from Sam’s many
friends and colleagues. Its purpose was to bring distinguished lecturers
to the University of Reno to deliver a series of talks to the general public
on topics of Sam’s many interests and to allow
some further time for the lecturers to interact with faculty and students
on an informal, more technical level.
