RECONSTRUCTED ION CHROMATOGRAM OF OVER-THE-COUNTER DRUG PRODUCT

Four ions specific for ethanol, acetone, methyl acetate, and toluene were chosen to reconstruct the mass chromatogram. Owing to a favorable relation between the signal response and the background noise, these substances now clearly appear.

On the basis of the quantitative amount of the VOCs as tested by the "full evaporation technique", one may generate a drug product´s "fingerprint ".
