Final announcement

To: Members and guests of the ENFSI Digital Imaging Working Group

23 September, 2008

Dear colleagues,

It is great pleasure to invite you to the 8th meeting of the European Network of Forensic Sciences (ENFSI) Expert Working Group for Digital Imaging (ENFSIDIWG) on

October 7-10, 2008 in Ankara, Turkey.

This meeting is organized by the Gendarmerie Criminal Department (JKDB), on behalf our Steering Commitee.

The full program will be a mixture of formal presentations, discussions and workshops. The details of the program will depend on your input! However, we propose to have a traditional program. The first day will be focused on facial image comparison and identification problems. The second and third day will be focused on casework and imaging technology (authentication, integrity investigation, camera identification, image processing, file repair, etc). The last day is focused on photogrammetry and 3d-modelling. Those of you, who are not interested in facial image comparison issues, can come one day later. As an outcome of the evaluation of our previous  meetings in Tallinn and Kiev we will try to organize more hands-on training sessions. For this purpose we might have sessions that will run simultaneously in separate rooms.

Just tell us what you want and what you can do for all of us!!

We will collect a fee at the beginning of the meeting to pay for the cost of the organization (meeting room, coffee breaks, meals, etc.). The fee will be 220 Euro.

The meeting venue is in the Radisson SAS Hotel, (İstiklal Cad. No:20 Ulus , Ankara, Turkey, http://www.ankara.radissonsas.com ). If you desire, we can make a reservation for you at the Radisson SAS Hotel. Of course, you are free to select another hotel. Room rate is 64 Euro for Single Room and 75 Euro for Double Room. This rate was special for the meeting and valid for the reservation until 05 September 2008. Of course , you can still try to get this rate.

Transportation: Hotel is in the city center and it takes approximately 30-35 minutes from airport. Taxi cost is approximately 50-70 Euro (100 YTL). The other alternative is bus. Bus cost is approximately 5-6 Euro (10 YTL). The name of the bus is HAVAŞ and arrival point is Tandoğan which is 1-2 km far away from the hotel. We recommend to take a taxi from Tandoğan. Cost is approximately 3-4 Euro (6 YTL) from Tandoğan to Hotel.

We are looking forward to meet you again.
